Guest prakash Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 Hi guys! I phoned orange today to ask for my phoen upgrade as its coming to a year now on 22nd Dec. I asked them how much is it to upgrade to c500, they said £80.00. I explained to them that i mite be going on holiday around the 22nd Dec (when it is a whole 1 year)so i wanna get it sorted now, they said even if i upgrade now they're gonna charge me £75.00 to upgrade now.......even thou its ONLY 13days to go! I thawt that was just stupid. My phone bills come to about £80.00 a month.........so basically they shoudl be giving the c500 for FREE to me. Plus the c500 is on pay as you go for £140.00 on their ORANGE WEBSITE! Im on every50, been with orange for 4 years now. Is that how they are supposed to treat LOYAL customers who have been with them for years? I got the E200 for FREE last year after i went to cancellations to complain and the normal upgrade phone line were saying £80.00 and nO LOWER. Should go thru cancellation again this year? Why cant they give the fone to me now, its only a 13 days, why does it make a huge difference? Anybody else had problems with orange upgrade and customer service? Ash
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 Unfortunately you have to draw the line somewhere, you'll find that its not just the c500, nor is it just Orange. You signed the contract for 12 months so you can't get out of it that way either.

Guest the_ugly_north Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 Eermm, If you ask the OCS person to put the figures in it will come out as being zero for the phone (they initially quote the price for your phone based on your talk plan, not your spend (which is what counts)). As you spend a lot they can upgrade you. Ring again and be polite as any normal OCS has the discretion to upgrade in the last month for free. If no joy ask to be put through to disconnections. I had 2 months left out of 12 (I am on E50) and my spend was £32 (just above the £30 over 3 months to get the phone free). Talked very nice and got it for free with no upgrade fee.
Guest aml Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 I had similar problems with Orange. Had SPV e200 for 12 months, on final day of contract asked for free upgrade to C500. They said I needed to pay £50 for the upgrade, even though it would be free to get a new one on the contract I'm on. So told them I wanted to cancel it and will be leaving orange - suddenly they treated me better!! bunch of ***** !!
