Guest SimonRobinson Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 OK, by Monday I will have both a C500 and a M1000, upgrading from the C500, but keeping the handset. Which should I use as the primary phone, and which should I keep in my laptop carry case? What are the advantages of one over the other?
Guest squall Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 I would go for c500 as main phone as m1000 is pretty big! the m1000's quicker for typing etc, so it kind of depends what you use the phone for
Guest Confucious Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 You'll have both - you tell us! Let us know how they compare but I think, as squall says, the C500 is a lot smaller so easier to carry (and is a great phone).but, horses for courses as they say, it depends on your usage. I just have the C500 but no longer use my PPC or any of my other phones.
Guest Raymo Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 its all down to preference imho i would rather have the c500, its smaller, stylish however the m1000 has bigger screen etc id use both!!

It's back to the original SPV levels, and I now realise why it was shipped with two batteries, and a seperate charger. I really struggle to get a day out of it. Typical use is three hours voice, two as a MP3 player, two hours of bluetooth web surfing when I get home, checking POP3 email every 15 mins and composing/sending 75-100 SMS/emails. I'd easily get two days of this kind of usuage on the C500. 2. The screen really is excellent, well user-friendly. Emails and SMSs are easier to write/read. 3. Bluetooth range on M1000 is almost double that of the C500. 4. Call quality on the M1000 is far superior, even when using the headset. I'll report back when I've used it over a weekend.

Yes the size is a problem, plus the battery life - but I do like the PDA type functionality. Interesting to read the comments about using two phones. Are you suggesting a second SIM card, possbilty diverting calls between the two phones, or swapping the existing SIM between the phones? At one point I was swapping the SIM almost daily and was concerned about the fragility of the SIM and its housing. Is there a better solution?
