Guest napes2000 Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 popped into my local orange store in bristol to see it they had a c500 car charger.....yes he said, £9.99. I'll have some of that, I said, and he returned bearing goodies. Not only did i get me car charger, but also a leatherish case with a clip on the back (now in the bin), a self adhesive plastic clip to hold my phone on the dashboard. I tried this, but on the first try, the spring was so strong i pulled the clip off the dashboard and left a sticky stain on the dashboard (clip now in the bin). They also gave me a hands free ear piece thingy. As i can never get these to stay in me ear hole this went in the bin too. Still, i got what i wanted, a car charger at a price that was good and also a bag full of tacky plastic packaging !!! GO BUY GUYS !!!!! merry Christmas napes
Guest Zahid Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 I recieved my C500 charger in the post today (Wednesday)- ordered from www.m-99.co.uk over the weekend, £3.70 including P&P !!! What I'd love is one of these USB car chargers http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/4078.htm with seperate leads for the C500, TomTom GPS receiver, and my bluetooth headset. That would save me so much space in my already overcrowded glove box. Is it feasable to have one USB cigarette lighter charger, and three seperate charging leads for the phone and accessories, or does each charger need to be seperately rated to the device it's charging?
Guest jimmyn Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 I had a look on the m-99 website for a car charger for my c500, which one did you buy if poss can you post a direct link Thanks Jimmyn
Guest skysurfer Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 I would take care with ordering from m-99. It looks like an affiliate of http://www.firstphoneshop.co.uk/ (Same product range, same photos, same prices). I ordered a 4 item accessory pack from them. I wanted the case and car charger but for 7.95 delivered I might as well have the car holder and personal hands-free as well! It arrived less the car charger (they only charged 5.96) so there was now only one out of the remaining three items that I wanted - the case. The case is a horizontal case, that threads onto a trouser belt. Not the standard clear fronted case that was illustrated. Not only is it not the type of case I ordered, but it is 5mm too big for a C500 in every direction!!! The hands free was for a Motorola V500. I tried it with the C500 and the microphone does not work. The car dashboard mount is a useless 50p item, but I was prepared for that at the price. I filled in the contact form on the web site some time ago but have had no reply. Beware!
Guest Confucious Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 I ordered a car charger for another phone earlier this year from M-99 (because they were VERY cheap). They took the money and the goods never turned up. To be fair they refunded the money no problems (and it wasn't a lot anyway). They can't exactly be making a fortune out of the chargers and if you get one for that priice and it works then you've got a bargain. If I hadn't already bought one from MoDaCo I'd order one, you've not got a lot to lose and like I say, when they couldn't deliver they did refund my money.

Hope that makes sense
Guest Hainsey Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 in car charges, cradle, handsfree, and free leather case from orange shop for £14.99 at last, waited for months. posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest kev6eel Posted December 28, 2004 Report Posted December 28, 2004 Personally I prefer to pay a bit more for a charger from the original suppliers (Orange) - heard too many stories of handsets being blown by dodgy in-car chargers. If this happens with an Orange supplied charger, at least they have (and can) to replace the handset then! Try getting a new SPV out of a £3.99 supplier! Kev. A new SPV user
