Guest dstevens Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 In researching my purchase of the 5600 I read somewhere that people were having problems with T-Mobile SMS on their unlocked phones. I’m experiencing the same problem and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced it and if there is a solution. You can receive an SMS from all providers but when you reply to them (except for T-Mobile) you get notification that the message was sent but it is never received. Example: Send SMS from ATT phone – received on my 5600 (t-mo service) – reply to message - notification that it was sent - never received on ATT phone. Send SMS from t-mo phone – received on my 5600 (t-mo service) – reply to message - notification that it was sent - received on my t-mo phone. So SMS is working fine as long as both parties have T-Mo service, but if the other party has different service, I can receive their message, but they cannot receive my reply. It does work if I send a new message to a phone with a different service provider. So the problem is only in the reply. Thanks in advance.
Guest nickcornaglia Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Check your SMS Service Center Number in Settings>Phone>Call Options
Guest dstevens Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Thanks. I checked it and it's the correct number. My old phone had a message center number but there is no place to put that in this phone. Before I purchased this phone I was researching and found a site where they had just discovered this problem but I can't remember the site. It would be hard to detect because it seems all is well when you reply to the message. I'm wondering if others who have unlocked their phone and using T-Mobile are having the same problem and they don't know about it.
Guest jleecong Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Yes it is a problem. T-Mo to T-Mo will work, other than that you can't reply to a message. http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=117760
