Freeloading idiots

Hi guys,

From reading the newsgroup, I got the impression that somehow some people have downloaded the new IA Album software for free?

Hope I got confused, but if not, this really annoys me..

There's precious little software being released as it is, and there'll be even less if idiots go and pirate it all anyway. I bet they're the first to complain about certification and the resulting lack of software, but heaven forbid they pay for the damned stuff!

Damnit, I hate these freeloaders!

Hopefully it is a trial version of the IA Album software, with an expiry date.

Myself and my moderators will do all we can to prevent pirate software being posted on the forum, but of course, we are limited in how quickly we can see such posts!

I have ordered my unlock code from Orange for my phone nearly 2 weeks ago, and have heard nothing. Other people have heard nothing for 4 weeks - it's a nice workaround!

Besides, I don't feel this is double standards!

The policy on pirate software is due to not wanting to cheat developers and BREAK THE LAW, not the same thing at all as highlighting a flaw in the phone's software!

I agree with the pirate software thing but wernt orange suposed to supply this software free of charge any way, am i the only one who feels slightly cheeted? they provide CRAP camera software and make us pay for something fairly decient :D

The software All-explorer and IA-album should be free, but we can't blame the developers for charging if Orange are too tight not buy the esential apps and give them with the phone.

It looks more like poor development by MS/O I guess they sat around a table and decided they could not be arsed to enhance the phone themselves so then they could charge developers the certification fee to do it instead.

I agree with DJHope, I have paid for All-explorer, All GPRS monitor thingy and interstellar flames (more than a quid when I bought it incidentaly).

To be honest the former two should be supplied with the phone, they are a must have, or at least all-explorer, and the games that came with the phone are, well, too few and very poor in my opinion.

The phone is great, and I don't mind paying for some software, but these days we ought to be able to run some stuff that's free.

Once again it's down to the certification issue, I remember reading a review a couple of months ago saying that developers say they can convert software from Pocket PC to Smartphone in 2 weeks, and that there are hundreds of applications already available - so where are they ?

I have to agree with the above few posts, we are haveing to buy software just to bring the phone up to usable, it should have been usable out of the box. The next thing they'll probably sell us will be a media player with FF & RW! :wink:

I'd hold of buying at the moment, as I have chatted to the developers of the original MMS interface, and they say an update to the user interface will be released shortly with an orange update. A lot of the functionality of IA Album, I believe, will be provided by this update.

I can't be sure about this, not having seen either, but this is what I have been told - comparing what I have been informed by the MMS interface developers, and what I have read about IA Album on this forum.

Both All-Explorer and a decent camera UI should have been included as standard on the SPV. It's shocking that they haven't. I have purchased all explorer, and I resent the fact that I had to. I will wait for the Orange update to see what this new functionality is.
