MPx220 on O2 in January

This is my first post so don't shoot the messenger...

I work for O2 and noticed this morning that the pay monthly handsets listed for staff on the internal website now contain the MPx220. The list is updated at the start of each month so this must have only been added recently.

So I called up staff accounts to try and order it and was told that the phone was currently scheduled for release on 17th January. I assume that this would be the release date if the O2 handset test group are happy with the phone, otherwise the release date would go back even further.

A bit disappointed myself as I was hoping to get the MPx220 before Xmas, but that seems to be the current status of the MPx220 in O2...

I emailed O2 a while ago and was told (very tentatively mind you) that the 20th of Dec was a scheduled release date. I knew that sounded to good to be true :(

I want a clamshell smartphone!!

With all this testing tho it would seem more of a thorough job than orange do i.e. letting the public and 95% of MoDaCo users be the Beta testers :roll:
