ActiveSync: home, work, and mobile - possible??

Hi everyone!

Alrighty - here's the deal. I have an Audiovox SMT5600 on the T-Mobile network in the USA. At work we have an Exchange 2003 server running ActiveSync server, and I currently synchronize with this ActiveSync Server while connected to my PC at work, while connected with my PC at home, and wirelessly.

This works just fine, but it is not ideal for me because my calendar and contacts at home never get updated by my phone because I am synchronizing with the ActiveSync Server instead of my local calendar and contacts.

I am wondering if it is possible to do the following:

1) When I am connected to my PC at home, use ActiveSync to synchronize with my local calendar and contacts, thereby updating my calendar and contacts with changes from my work PC and the phone.

2) When I am connected to my PC at work, use ActiveSync to synchronize directly with my local calendar and contacts (NOT ActiveSync server). I could compromise here by syncing with the ActiveSync server, but I'd rather not if it is possible.

3) When I am on the road, use ActiveSync & GPRS to synchronize with the ActiveSync server.

Has anyone done anything like this with any degree of success? I'd like to know before I go breaking what I already have... :)

Thanks!

As long as you realise all the versions of Outlook will have the same

calender and contacts etc you should not have a problem.

Hmm - it does not appear that this is possible. I set up my home PC to synchronize the local contacts and calendar, then set up my phone to sync with the server while unplugged. Then I plugged it back into my home PC, and it was set to sync with the server. Argh! What am I doing wrong?

There's no easy way to do this i'm afraid.

If you're merging the stuff anyway, why not just get your home PC to point to your office server, and copy your personal calendar and contacts into there?
