Guest alontamir Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 Hi All, I've had T-Zones (unlimited $5.99) since the beginning of the week, everything worked fine until this morning. I can receive pop3 email and chat on IM, but when trying to bring up a web page i get an alert saying "The page you are trying to load cannot be found". Any ideas on how to fix this. Cant be settings as i havnt changed anything since i added the T-zones and was browsing perfectly.... FYI, i'm using an Audiovox SMT5600 with T-Mobile. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 Have you phoned T-Mobile customer services ? Sounds like a problem at their end. Moved to Help & Advice
Guest alontamir Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 I have called them, they said that their systems are functioning correctly...

Guest Disco Stu Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 I've had similar problems with the C500 but a simple reboot solved it. I'll check to see if others have any better answers  This is the thread I was thinking of : http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=1187...416eed27370078d
Guest alontamir Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 Thanks! Tried the reboot - to no avail :)
Guest markgamber Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 I have a sneaking suspicion that port 9201, the standard WAP port, isn't working or doesn't work with smartphones. WML pages eventually come up for me, but they come up as http://whatever, not wsp://whatever, which leads me to think the port 9201 connection times out and the browser defaults over port 80 which works. Since I have full internet and you don't, it works for me eventually but doesn't work for you at all. I noticed this weeks ago and thought it was my setup but the more I play with it, the more I think it's TMo.
Guest alontamir Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 So I spoke to the T-Mobile bastards and they pulled the old switcharoo. You sign up for T-Zones, but this only works on phones supported by T Mobile that have only wap browsing capabilities. Us SMT5600 users with our HTML browsers apparently crunch their bandwidth and so, simply, they block us. More sepcifically, they block port 80 or something... So, does anyone know a workaround to this or do i have to suck it up and buy the $19 unlimited internet plan? geeeez...
Guest spindle Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 I've been having the same problems. POP3 still works but no longer web browsing or Agile Messenger.
Guest algorhythm Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 This has recently started happening with me as well...also T-Mo, on an i-Mate SP3 (same phone). Up until about a week ago it worked fine. I had installed a couple of new apps and figured that might be the prob, but I even tried a hard reset (I've got it all backed up via Sprite on the SD card), and it no longer worked even with factory settings. It's gotta be something T-Mo did. I tried calling them but the CS rep was completely clueless. (Just like when they pulled the plug on free WAP last summer....took me 4 reps and a manager to get anyone to cop to it.) So...what are you guys saying? Has someone gotten any real info from T-Mo as to what they've done to make it stop working? I already started coughing up the $5/mo when they killed free WAP....is paying for unlimited WAP gonna fix the problem, or have they totally screwed us?
Guest markgamber Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 The $20/mo internet package has full access to the net with the exception of port 554 or something which was an accident that I understand is to be fixed. Anything less than that includes, according to their documentation from a couple years ago, ports 9201, 9203, smtp, pop3 and imap. That's it and that's why I signed up to the full internet package when it was first offered. Didn't anyone figure that one day tmo would actually make their services work as advertised and just maybe one service was $5 and another was $20 for a reason?
Guest sixonenine619 Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 I have the same problem as well, i talked with them on the phone for almost an hour yesterday, and they wouldnt give me sh_t for answers, so now im here. So basically i have a SPV e200 thats useless now for internet? Anyone have anymore inforamtion about this?
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 sixonenine619 : are you in the UK ? Which operator ?
Guest sixonenine619 Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 Im from the San Diego CA. The Southern West Coast of the US, using a SPV e200. Tmobiles pretty useless about helping you when you dont actually have one of their phones. On the upside, im getting insurance on my phone pretty soon. Trying to get them to give me a HP iPAQ h6315 as the replacement. Basically all their other phones are crap... And i refuse to accept a nokia 6600 as a replacement for my E200. Anyone know about the Ipaq h6315? I know its more of a PDA handheld, and its way larger, but is it actually a decent phone? PS I just turned off my tzones :)
Guest Confucious Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 You guys in the states have it so hard. I mean having to pay $19.99 for unlimited internet access wheras hear in the UK on Orange we *only* have to pay £88.13/ month for unlimited access :) Sorry, I know it's very annoying when people pull services you have been receiving (especially without telling you) but it could be worse, you could live here in the Good ol' UK.
Guest alontamir Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 Guys Guys Guys, Its very simple, and i have it confirment from T Mobile - If you want unlimited internet access, cough up the $20/month - its the only way.
Guest sixonenine619 Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 since our E200's can be used as modem, is there anyway i could run internet off my home computer?
Guest sixonenine619 Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 Well once t-mobiles internet doesnt acutally suck, i might be winning to pay 19.99 a month for it. But as it is now, i think it averages about 25kb per second. Just barely enough to play my crappy streaming radio. IF they could acutally make it fast, i would be willing. But for now, no way. How fast is oranges wireless internet?
