Guest willieturnip Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 My spv recently decided it would pack it in. I think it must have died of old age(2 yrs!)or something, but my problem is not with the phone. I know what i'm doing whan it comes to phones, computers etc. but i dont really want to go ripping apart my old freind so i rung up orange...'my spv's screen has stopped displaying anything of real relation to whatever program it's running(exept colour). It can stilll run programs, play mp3's, make calls etc. but i cant see what i'm doing. I am sure it is a motherboard fault so can you help' i said. The first reply i got was, 'the phonemust have been dropped in the sink or somthing then'...'no...' i replyed,'its a motherboard fault, can you fix it?'. 'ummm...naaa you'l 'av to send it to HTC mate!' 'o.k. can i have the phone no.'...'yer but you will 'av to phone between 9:00am and 5:30pm,but not at weekends'. Now i want to know who has time to be phoning HTC at those hours? Anyway...i have managed to do so and they say it will cost me £90 for a new screen...i want you too replace the motherboard!!! 'oh o.k...are you sure?'. 'yes i am sure'. 'well...we will need to check it out first and that will cost £25.' 'I dont need you to check it...I know whats wrong now will you please do what i am asking?!' . 'nope we will still have to check it out.' I am going to send it (reluctantly) because i have grown accustom to the spv and it is like an extension of my body now but it's very deer. PLEASE if anyone can do it cheeply or has any suggestions plaese reply. cheers....from (the real) will
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 Your best bet would be to find an SPv with a faulty screen. You should eb able to pick one up for about £20. I would still question if the screen is faulty or not but I can test this with a screen I have from another unit I am trying to fix at the moment.
Guest willieturnip Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 hmm..i may have to try that....though i have, however bought an e200 and a c500...im not sure why i bought both but there you go..lol
