Voice note as ring tone ?

Hi there !

Is possible to use a voice note as a ring tone ? I have a voice note of my child saying Dad that I want to use as a ring tone.

Welcome to the forum mate :(

Indeed you can, in a roundabout way.

The problem is that the phone records voice notes as wavs but in GSM format and these are not supported as ringtones.

So, connect phone to PC with ActiveSync, copy recording from Storage (or IPSM if older device) My Documents Notes to somewhere on PC.

Then use Windows Sound Recorder (in Programs, Accessories, Entertainment) to open the file. Simply save as PCM format (see the Change button) - say 16,000khz 16 bit mono, but you can experiment with these settings to get the best sound.

Now copy & paste the result to Storage Application Data Sounds and select it the usual way.
