Guest Pondrew Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Hmm. Don't there have to be virus' for there to be a virus scanner? :)
Guest Animefan Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Hmm. Don't there have to be virus' for there to be a virus scanner? :) Same point here
Guest midnight Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 hehe, well it certainly means that they can use the phrase 'kills all known Smatrphone virii'.... so that will be all ZERO of them then :)
Guest djfuego Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 If there arn't any viri why make the app? Are they just calling any malicious SP app a virus these days? Are they really scamming the general SP public? Shouldn't they be told off or something?
Guest markgamber Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 Why? People can write any app they want, even if there's no need or market for it. They do it all the time, in fact. And you really shouldn't throw around the word "scam" like that. If you willingly pay for the app and they deliver what you paid for, it's hardly what I'd call a scam. A barometer of the buyer's intelligence maybe, but not a scam. I'm still thinking of writing one myself if only because it won't take more than 10 minutes (it's not like it has to actually do anything) and someone will buy it. There's no shortage of paranoid sheep apparently willing to pay.
Guest pierre Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 Ha ha, here's a new challenge for those virus' makers :)
Guest Crispy Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 Hehe, well, to all of you "There-are-no-viruses-then-we-don't-need-a-scanner" people ... let me just remind you; It's a Microsoft OS you're using .................
Guest filao Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 Just thought I'd mention to you all, this made my Betaplayer stop working (the latest stable version) when installed ...
Guest markgamber Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 LOL!!!!! Like I said, SOMEONE will buy it. Too funny.
Guest pierre Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 At least it's a good "show-off" tool to impress colleagues and friends :)
Guest dearsina Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 I can imagine the demographic of people buying this would be pretty much the same demographic of people who play the lottery. And just to remind you what the lottery was dubbed when it was initially started in the UK: Idiots tax. In other news: Trend Micro have started to sell tinfoil hats, you know, just in case.
Guest Rob.P Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 That's the version they released for beta testing only a short while ago as in a few weeks ago. I only had a few days to complete the test script before it expired. If anything it is worth downloading for the SMS Spam Blocker alone, quality function. Why buy it be a Beta Tester and you get a copy free. [edit] there wasa test kit that came with it, these had a couple of virus' to install on the system. At least we got the virus protection before the virus' started coming out. [/edit]
