Anybody tried the c500 ROM update on a SMT5600?

Does it work? Does the phone explode? Does a hyperspace vortex open and eat your house? Does the rom update effect the SIM lock? Thanks.

1, It is possible with the correct knowhow.

2, Not unless you use the tweaked gunpowder update.

3, Only if you press the wrong button so make sure you have decent house insurance.

Obviously awarner's answer is correct but I'd just like to ask why would you want to use it?

The 5600 is triband 850/1800/1900 the orange ROm only supports 900/1800/1900 so by using it you would make yoyur phone dual band (1800/1900 only). The 5600 has WMP 10, the Orange ROM only has WMP 9 . The orange ROM has additional features for the Orange network so, I supose, if you wanted to use a 5600 on Orange it *might* be worth trying but other than that, what's the point?

Well to get the GAPI and button issue fixed. I read reviews that states the SMT5600 still has those two problems.

Not that I've seen on the Audiovox which button fix are you refering to?

as there is not a buttong fix on the Orange ROM as the update actually

stops any form of multipress working at all :?
