Guest schmeegle Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Hi, When I try to connect to check my email (POP3) I get the error 'Please check your dil up or proxy settings & try again'. I can connect to the internet with no problems, but the 'internet' data connection doesn't work, nor does the 'WAP' connection. Any help much appreciated!
Guest Confucious Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 You should use your internet data connection and if this works to connect to the internet the problem might lie elsewhere. To check try accessing your email using a passthrough connection on your PC. If it still doesn't work, are you sure all your account details are correct. If you still have problems then please post details of which phone and network networkyou are using together with details of your email settings (not username amnd password obviously) and details of your internet data connection and I'm sure somneone will be able to help.
Guest exeweb Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Just to drag this up again, I have had this problem this evening. It seems that when you enter the frequency of downloading email on the final screen, if you select anything other than "Manually" you cannot force the first manual download, instead you receive the error message detailed by schmeegle. This is just about logical, but if I were to go back in and edit the email details from manual only email checking to hourly, can I be confident that it'll actually work? Are there any other little tricks of the trade I should know?
