Guest mastermind81 Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Hi to all, i have some questions. My father works in Dubai, and have the opportunity to buy an iMate Sp3 at a lowercost than here in Italy. My questions are: 1- Is there any type of sim-lock? 2- Is there an update to put in the Italian T9? 3- Can i recharge the battery using a simply AC adapter to convert the AE plug to Italian plug? Thank you. Marco

Marco 1.) i dont think so, but if it does you can easily remove the simlock via www.imei-check.com but with a service fee. 2.) i think it's pre-equiped with Italian T9, but i'm not sure about this. 3.) you can simply use an adapter if the voltage indicated in the charger is the same in Italy, normaly the charger would come in autovoltage which means that you can use it 110v or 220v. but pls do check before you plug it in.
Guest jfran Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 Depending on region, your device will either be loaded with: - Operator : 1.2.33.11 for English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish and Italian Languages OR - Operator : 1.0.33.12 for English, Romanian, Czech, Hungarian, Turkish, Polish and Slovak Languages. Both versions offer the same functionality; it is only the supported languages that is different between them. hope that helps rgds jim
Guest Dark Horse Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 1. No there's no SIM lock, all mobiles sold in Dubai are SIM free. 2. The one I bought didn't have Italian T9. If you buy from Dubai the default language is Arabic and you'll need to change this to English. Ask your father to get the guy at the store to do this if you can't read Arabic. Additionally, bear in mind that it'll have a normal keypad albeit with Arabic text on there for Arabic input. 3. Yes you can! If you want it cheap, you might be better off getting the Orange PAYG model from the UK for £140 from Orange retail shops and then paying an extra £20 to get it unlocked. I've not seen the SP3 in Dubai for cheaper than £210. Regards, Dark Horse
Guest mastermind81 Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 Thank you guys for your informations. Seems that if i upgrade the rom with "1.2.33.11" pack i can get the italian language. Exactly 'Dark Horse', actually in Dubai the cost is about £ 220 and here in Italy £ 290.
Guest Confucious Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 So why not do as he sugests and get a UK C500?
