Guest pcbinternet Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Hi i am not sure if i am missing something here, but on my old spvs if a contact had a mobile number stored, that number was also set up as a txt number to be used as the default for sending text messages to. Only numbers which had those txt fields filled in, in the contact lists would show up in the list of contacts to send messages to, now i have a c500 its different, and now if a contact has more then one number assigned to it, i have to chose the number i wish to use to send the text message to, even if its not a mobile number. Is this the norm now or is the setting that i m missing? Paul
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 I think this is because you can now send texts to what we used to call landlines in some cases, but I don't seem to have the choice you're talking about.
Guest Confucious Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 I get the option of choosing the number and like Disco stu says, you can now send to landlines - I was most suprised on answering my home phone the other day to find a text message being read out!
Guest mike-oh Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 Yeh, i've had that too. I think it was from Vodafone. I tried textin the same landline from my Orange mobile but it didn't work. Nice idea but it didn't cope too well with the text speach. :) *EDIT* I tried texting my landline (at my uni house) from the orange website and sure enough it worked!
