Guest scottb Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 When I look in the Process list of the WM2003 File Explorer, I see a process called FCI (FCI). Anyone know what this is?
Guest Confucious Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 No idea. What phone have you got? Is it there if you reboot your phone?
Guest Will Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 make/model and rom will help.. my thoughts are on some kind of caller ID? does that ring any bells
Guest scottb Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 Yes, I reckon a little more information would be helpful. I have a Samsung i600, on Verizon Wireless in the U.S. The only add-on plugin I'm using at the moment is RJShortcut. FCI is there when I boot the phone. I can close it via the task manager, but it comes back. ROM: Operator - 4.20.40518.0 Microsoft - 4.20.13349.0
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 As Will said do you have any sort of Caller ID software installed on your phone? Task Manager will only terminate running files, as long as the application causing this is in the Sartup folder or on the ROM it will restart on bootup.
Guest scottb Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 No, I have no caller ID software (other than what comes with WM2003) on the phone. The starup folder has two entries: LoadRepllog.lnk OEMStartup.lnk
Guest scottb Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 Here's what I found--for those who are interested. I use RJ Shortcuts. I used to use the icons with it, now I use the application name with no icons. Since I made this change I have not seen FCI appear in the process list. I can only assume it has something to do with displaying or associating the icons with the program links in RJ Shrotcuts.
