Guest Parre Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 Hi guys i have the Qtek 8010 and i have a question regarding the reminders. When someone call me the one who calls can hear the reminder and its pretty loud. If i lower the reminder sound then i wont hear my appointments when i need to :) Also kinda irritating is the 3 time remind for every appointment *sigh* Does anybody have any smart tips or ideas, since im really depending on my reminders, but i dont want the one calling hearing them. Since i use the sound "awwwcrap" *lol* Thanks, /Parre
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 What is the actual problem with reminders? is three to many or do you want it to loop etc? As for the reminder in call just lower the In-call alert volume in SettingsAccessibility
Guest Parre Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 ahhh thanks alot the accessibility did the in-call thing *hehehehe* My customer thought i was yelling at her last week, when my reminder said "awwwCrap" 3 times in a romw :) Is it possible to just have the reminder, remind me ONE time? Since i have like 5-10 reminders everyday in my calender :/ Thanks for fast answer btw
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 When you say three times in a row, is the sound file actually played individually three times in a row or is it just one sound file being looped three times?
Guest Parre Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 yes its played 3 times as a reminder then its silent. I listen to the wav and its just a short sound with bart saying awwcrap or maybe its Homers dad, cant remember :) kinda annoying though :/
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 I remember homer saying this three times during an episode :( So if the sound is what i'm thinking of then you would have to edit the sound to make it say it once only. Can you zip the sound and post it here, sounds like one I'd like to try :)
Guest Parre Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 I tried to send it to your email address, but it just bounched back :/ [email protected] something wrong with this PERM_FAILURE: SMTP Error (state 10): 550 Invalid recipient:
Guest olly_k Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 Think this maybe the sound you are looking for :)HomerAhhCrap.zip
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 Cheers for that :) still btw the email addy above is not mine, click on the email tab for the correct addy :(
Guest Parre Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Ok, great, well since you already got it no need to send it again. How can i attach files to my posts? Also you wont belive this, now when i try to get reminders on my phone it wont play a sound any more :) What have i done wrong now *hehehe* Tried to add an appointment and 1 min as reminder choosen sound and volume, tried to reminder sound also. But it simply wont play it *sigh* I think i checked all menys without luck
Guest Parre Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 THink i found the solution to my own problem. COuld anyone confirm this what i think is a bug in the phone. If you have a reoccuring appointment/reminder in you phone set to somtime in the begining of the day. Then all comming appointments play my reminder sound in some strange way :) When i removed my Reoccuring event all reminders were back to normal.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 There is a known Outlook bug on the phone where old reminders that have not been removed can stop new reminders from sounding.
Guest Parre Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 Yea, *sigh* i noticed. But what about the 3 times in a row reminder sound? Can u figure that out?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 To be honest no :? I have noticed on my C500 that reminder sound I use plays once then it seems as if it's trying to play again while the initial tone is still being played.
Guest Parre Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 yeah, its kinda anoying if u have several remiders running every day. I think its sufficent to get the reminder one time heehhe, not like 3 :) Is there a way to prevent this, changing in the register or something??
