c500 looks dead - help needed - no led, nothing !

Hello,

I charged my c500 last night. When I woke up I disconnect the power adaptor and tried to power it up.

It never came back...no light, no sound, no led !

The only signal I receive is a flashing red led if I connect it to the power adaptor without battery. It simply looks dead ?!

The c500 is not distributed in belgium so I had to buy it on ebay. It is a Orange UK version.

This means that I don't have any warranty.

Would anyone know if I could benefit from someone else's orange warranty ?

I don't have access to any repair center from here (in belgium).

Thanks for your time and I hope you will find a solution for me,

Philippe

the red light signifys the battery is very low, so low the phone cant turn on. Leave it on charge again, hopefully taht will sort it, If not it could be a faulty battery.

If it is flshing red it means the battery is very low in power.

Did you charge it from the mains or the computer? I would plucg the mains charger in and leave it for a few hours before trying to power it on again.

If you were using the charger it may be faulty.

If the charger is ok then it looks like you may need a new battery.

In fact I tried to test the battery.

I connected it to a radio (!!! yes it is possible) and let it play for half an hour. It worked .

This should indicate that the battery is still good.

In fact I only receive the flashing red led when I connect the power adaptor while the battery is REMOVED.

Any other guesses ???

I did a new test.

While the battery was connected I inserted 2 wires between the battery and the phone. Those 2 wires were connected to an external modulated power supply.

I applied 3,7 V to the phone and it boot up !

A warning message informed me that the main battery was low.

I shut it down and removed the external wires.

After this I was able to boot the phone again. It is now accepting to charge...Looks definetely like a battery issue.

I will see if I can get it fully charged again.

Thanks for your answers.

What voltage did the radio require to power on? as the phone will not allow you to start up if the battery charge level is too low.

I'm impressed by your experimenting though :)
