Guest Raven001 Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 Hi there, I've been trying for the past several hours to application-unlock my new (AT&T USA) SMT-5600. While I seem to be able to install most programs (such as BT_Toggler, Boxy Pocket, Flamethrower Carnage, Kevtris, Orneta Chess, Skyforce, etc.) -- others give me the error message. "Installation Failed. The program or setting cannot be installed because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate." Specifically, I haven't been able to install XRick or Wolfenstein3d because of this error. I've tried running No Warez.exe and ResetSecurity.exe, and, while both appear to run without a hitch, I still can't install either of the above programs. I really wish I was on Orange, because you guys seem to have it easy with OTA :) Can anyone help? This is getting really frustrating.. Thanks! Raven

Guest nickcornaglia Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 Non Orange phones cant app unlock using the Orange OTA Service. It's only for Orange phones. The No Warez worked for me on my SMT5600. I'll try installing the apps you mentioned, but from experience, my phone is fully app unlocked.
Guest Raven001 Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 Update: I just found a newer version of Xrick and it seems to install fine - -that's what I deserve for downloading games off of sites other than modaco :) Thanks encece. I've been having problems with the OTA, so I wasn't getting my hopes up! I'll try AE config one more time (it'll be like the 10th time, lol). Please let me know if wolfenstein works for ya! Thanks :(
Guest Raven001 Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 Better yet, try to install the DOOM cab (gives me the same error - but it'll be easier for you to install). It can be found here: http://www.msmobilenews.com/?cid=550 Direct link to cab: http://www.msmobilenews.com/uploads/doom.CAB ..I get an error about sytem-permissions when I try to install...

Interesting, I was able to install DOOM cab on mine. I've never run any of the app unlock utilities. I just wanted to test one of the apps that wasn't working for you, to see if my phone is app locked or not. I have used mine for software development (playing around with an idea for an app), so maybe in doing so, Visual Studio app unlocked it - I'm not sure.
