Guest sakis1401 Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 What's your opinion for this smartphone guys??
Guest Pondrew Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 Over sized and under endowed (when it comes to functions... ) :)
Guest Supermanfan Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 I am curious too. This is the only Smartphone with a full keyboard. I see this device as a possible Blackberry killer. I can get this device and use it on Cingular's $19.99/month unlimited Internet plan. This beats the $44.99/month unlimited Blackberry plans. I see these devices for $375-$400 on Ebay and am thinking about getting one and returning my MPX220. Any input from those who already have one would be greatly appreciated.
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 I have one, in all honesty, it's horrible :) P
Guest Confucious Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Have you done a review of the VOQ Paul? The spec seems great, a full qwerty keyboard and everything yet i have never seen a good word said about the VOQ. In theory it sounds great but in practice it doesn't appear to be so. What makes it so horrible?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 Only thing that makes it stand out from the E100 (tanager) is the qwerty kb,faster proc and extra bit of memory. No camera or BT, and its quite literally the size of a brick...

Any input from those who already have one would be greatly appreciated. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have one and in all honesty, it fits exactly what I need and have had no issues with it. I never had a need for bluetooth or a camera on a phone. I needed a device with good RF (The VOQ does perform really well with RF) and a qwerty keyboard. I've played around with the Treos at work and just didn't like the form factor or the OS (what can I say, I've really never liked the palm OS). This device lets me do exactly what I need to do. Email and IM, a little web surfing and watch a movie now and again. Paul, I know you and a few others had issues with the VOQ turning itself off. I have been using the VOQ for two months and have yet have had it happen to me. Maybe I just got a unit with a tight on button. The biggest complaint I see is about the size of the unit. It's not as big as you think. All said and done, If you don't need a camera or bluetooth and a qwerty keyboard is needed, the VOQ is not a bad choice. After reading the early review of the MPX at another site, I'm kinda glad I went for the VOQ and not waited.
