Help Please with my new C500 (SMS messages wrong number).

Hello,

I got my new C500 last week on Orange. Today I got my old O2 phone number ported over.

When I send a new text message, the message gets saved in my Sent messages box as normal, but the phone number in the from field is still showing as my old number, not my new ported number. Any ideas on how I can change this please? I've tried rebooting the phone.

Check the number in SettingsPhoneCall Options then check the SMS

service center.

Are you still sending and recieving SMS ok?

Think he means he ported his number from an o2 sim to the orange sim.. but still shows as his old orange number on sms's.

thanks for the responses. I can still send and receive sms fine, its just that sent messages have my old temporary orange number in the from field, but I want my new O2 ported number in there. I think somewhere in the phone its got my old orange number.

Although when other poeple get my sms, it shows the sender as my new O2 ported number.

anyone know where the c500 may be storing the old orange number?

I've just checked on mine and my outgoing messages (In sent folder) show my number which I ported in to Orange. I have not changed the number on the phone.

Have you tried rebooting your phone? You should not have to change anything, I wondered if maybe the settinfgs hadn't propergated through the SMS center yet but would have though that sent messages shouldn't be gettinng the info fromn the center so a reboot might fix it.

Thanks, I tried rebooting, even took the battery out, but it still shows the old number :)
