well after buying it on the street for 20 buks having it for a few months buying sd cards usb adapters downloading and installing games progs and windows 2003..then my screen went out spend 200 on new screen all the covers espec the back one that had the clips that hold the sim card broken..finaly a new great phone!!!used it for 2 weeks then i started 2 get a lot of low memory msgs.i already hard reset it on 2002 a few times but since 2003 i havent done it. so let me do a hr.fully charged it did a hr the windows came up everything well then 10 sec later !!!!sim card error!!im like what the fkkkk!!!the wierd part is that it wont do nothing not even power off so i took out the battery put it back in but the power butn wont work it just goes on when i put the batn in. so i have to hold the blue butn wile puting the batn in to do another hard reset.so i do another hr same problem.well ill just reflash it.now the funny part the power button dosent work so i cant hold the left in and turn it on.so it wont read like a modem only like a usb device!!!so after a few dozen tries of puting the batt in wile hiting the left in finaly reflashed it.same problem!!!!so i reflashed it bak to 2002 to c if fixes the problem but it didnt....so now after hr and rf a few times the phone is dead..i think its the batt after all the hr's probaly kept on running out or the last hr after 100 times i was pissed of and took the bat out in the middle of hr.

things i think went wrongand some quest?

1.at the first hr i think i put the usb or power cable during the hr. that caused the sim card error or the power butn to not work.after all the first hr the power but never work again. even thoe i hr and reflash it many times.

2.keeping on reflashing and doing hr's the bat ran out.

3.taking the batt out during the hr..when it was reflashing or erasing dont remember the 2 one.

4.has any one reflashed 2002 or 2003 windows sp2??

5.when u reflash do u leave the sim card in or take it out?

well now i have a brand new mpx new screen new covers new sd card but it wont work, wont charge, wont do nothing...i tried everythin leaving it a hole 2 days charging.leaving it a week without turning it on..nothing works.all it does is goes on when i put the bat in an hold down the blue but to do a hr i hit yes starts and goes out after 8 sec.tried reflashing but it goes out in 10 sec.

well thats my story if any one has had same problems pls let me now.

im buying like 4 mpx over ebay so i have a few spair..

That's the hardest post to read I have seen in a long time :?

First off I have edited yout title as there is not need for abusive language even if you do use *** etc.

1, Sounds like you have blown the internal fuse but causing a power surge

when plugging the charger in while you were tring to do a hard Reset.

2, see the answer to question No 1

3. Why are you plugging power cables in and out and screwing with the battery while doing a hard reset?? all of this will take you back to the answer No1

4, Not tried with Xp service pack 2 but that should not cause any major problems.

5, There is not need to touch the SIM relating to flashing the phone.

BTW that is mobile gadget news .com and you will find a step by step as a sticky under Motorola 1st Generation Smartphones. :) I must second that if you don't have experience soldering then you may not want to seek this method, and should seek someone with experience or an autorizied repair agent if you are beyond warrenty repair.
