In a nutshell

Click on file to encode (pick file) click on output file (your choice) click on advanced options. Pick Smartphone, set orientation tick VHQ, tick XVid tick framerate and set to 25.00 (optional)

On the left set video quality to anything between 1-6 (6 if you have lots of action/cgi scenes) (1 - 2 for normal films) audio quality to 1 click > set to 16 kps.

Click preview make sure its all ok, then click direct encoding (but if you check the Betaplayer and PocketDivxEncoder threads you will find more info)

get the latest version fo pocketdivxencoder and you dont need to set anything it all works perfect using the default settings..

i also use smartripper 2.41 to rip the files first from my legally owned DVD's :)

ok well ive got a dvd encoding program now, which i didnt know i needed.

encoded a dvd to about 16files, is this right or should it be less???

also when i went to encode it onto my phone i couldnt find my phone on the output file??

and when i started to preview it the percentage bar didnt move even 1% over about 5 mins.

sorry im new to the smartphone world any more advise would be greatly appriciated.

also how do u use my mp3s as ringtones and text message sounds????

Hi Jedidiah4luvers, no you did not get it right. If you checkout the BetaPlayer thread you will see reference to DVD Decrypter and configuring this for a single file output, then you use PocketDivXEncoder to convert this file and when this finishes you will have 1 single file (between 80Mb - 130Mb depending on quality)

You cant encode directly to the phone, you need to save the file to your PC first then transfer this to the phone.

When you click on Preview the bar does only show 1% or so and after a few seconds the preview window will appear and close by itself.

You cant use MP3's as a ringtone directly you will need to check out the other threads for info on how to do that.
