Guest jim138 Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 First Post Guys, I have been reading the forum and getting lots of info. I hope someone can help me here. I am interested in removing cingular from my homescreen. I'm sure its a matter of using a registry editor . I would really appreciate getting some step by step. Thanks in advance.
Guest drblow Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 Hello m8! Welcome to the forum! :) If you just don't want to see the carrier displayed on the homescreen, then you could simply open the homescreen xml, find the carrier plugin display, and change the x="xxx" to 250 (or something over 176). If you don't think your into customisation, then just download one of the huge number of themes avialble here in the homescreen download section.
Guest jim138 Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 I appreciate the speedy reply. I will take your advice and check out the other guys customization. Thanks again
Guest NerdENerd Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 It would be a lot easier to just go to Setting->Homescreen and choose Windows Default instead of Cingular.
Guest McHale Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 Windows Default is nearly identical to the Cingular http://www.modaco.com/viewforum.php?f=43>home screen. I have an edited version of Windows Default which I have been using since Day 1. Since Cingular phones always show Cingular no matter who you are actually roaming on, I'm getting rid of it to. TOTAL waste of real estate. All you need to know is signal strength. -Mc
