Guest malefrag Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 Hello guys! am a bit behind modern tech so... excuse me if my question is a bit silly! Does anyone know how to have MP3 files (via windows media player) as ringtones? i have copied the files i want to "sounds" and i can see them on my desctop when syncronised with my laptop, but i cannot see them anywhere inside the spv (c500) .Can anyone help please? Thanks, Maria
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 Sorry Maria, the C500 will not play MP3s as ringtones, only wav, wma or MIDI. The good news is that MP3s are easy to convert with either Windows Media Player or alternatively have a look at Simon Desser's guide here :)
Guest malefrag Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 thanks for that! can you please tell me how to convert them using windows media? thanks again! :)
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 I've not done it myself yet and I don't have WMP10 here, but this guy has : http://smartphone.modaco.com//viewtopic.ph...light=ringtones Read the first post and see if that gives you the right pointers. Moved to Help & Advice.
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 ..or maybe not   What I think he's done is rip the CD track into WMA with Media Player. Look in Tools, Options, Rip Music and choose Windows Media Audio rather than MP3. Now you have your WMA on the PC you can use Sync to copy across to the phone. Alternatively find dbPowerAmp with Google. This will rip your CDs and also convert to wav. Then use Windows Sound Recorder to trim the bits you want and Save As..PCM format. As I said above, have a read of Simon Desser's guide for the full skinny :)
