Media player gone txxs up?

This has happened to me twice now!! and both times when i wanted to listen to music on the walk home from the pub!

I have a couple of ripped songs from my cd's using the default media player file format (wma). When i play them back, i get no sound. Now i know they have definitely worked before because i was listening to them on the way home from the Arsenal v Chelsea match on sunday (VIP tickets, check that out). All other sounds are working from the phone, even the default file on the c500 doesnt play any sound.

What f#in gives?

might be obvious - but check the volume control on the earphone cable, caught me out once... :)

Yeah, i did check that. even when i dont have the headphones in it still doesnt work. It has done this before, but the phone fixed itself and started working again. I havent got a clue what is going on. I tried turning the phone off and on but that didnt fix it either! very strange.
