HTC can't fix the dust...and they use your phone!!!

Hi all,

After having my C500 for a week or so I noticed the dust building up under the screen, a quick call to HTC had it booked in and I sent it away. Spoke to a helpful guy called Tim at HTC when it took a little longer than expected to return who sorted the situation. It took a little under 2 weeks to get the phone back from the day I sent it. When I got it back it had no dust under the screen - great stuff!! :) :( HOWEVER!!!---there was a call from someone called "Sue" logged in the call history AND a 5 second blurred video of what I can only say is two people making baby noises!!! I soft reset the phone before sending, I've never shot that video (which was on the phones memory, not SD card by the way) and don't know anyone called bloody "Sue"!! Naughty naught HTC for using other peoples phones without their knowledge or consent!!! :evil: :evil:

The phone was returned undamaged however so I kind of overlooked it.

BUT......

The bloody dust has come back.....with a vengeance!!! I just can't win!

Moral of the story - HTC don't have a fix for this problem outside of cleaning the phones out and possible fitting new casing which is the same as originally supplied. Oh and they possibly use your phone too, this would explain my 2 week turn around. I thought that the call from "Sue" was perhaps a test call to make sure the phone is ok but the video I can't explain.

Where does the name "Sue" come from?

If it's shwon on the phone then it must be coming from your Contacts.

If they had a sim with the contact Sue on I think that would display as Sue in the history from Sue's incoming call? Or perhaps they had it in phone memory?? unlikely tho.

No, wasn't people makin babies - It was like the babies mum putting a baby into a car seat or something from the blurred video. The sound was like that noise that only a mother and baby do to each other. BoboGaGaBobO etc etc etc Gibberish in other words

I don't think it was because you can sort of tell someone in the vid has a blue outdoor coat on and is wearing cream gloves. These bits you could make out even though the phone is shaken all over the place. It's the sound tho... it's definitely a baby. It only lasts a few seconds and I suspect it was a total accident it was recorded because it wasn't pointed at all, just sort of waived about.

obvious question - but are you sure you have the same handset back ? (does the imei number match the one u sent them?) or have they sent back someone elses handset as a 'recon' one?

Phone back twice - both times dust returned - i have dust back again and have lost the will to send it back again.

Just how hard can this be to fix ???

I thort about that but before i posted it to HTC i made a note of serial and imei numbers and they are all the same on return of the fone. I dont understand why this vid and Sue call should be on my fone!? Its a bit weird to b honest. Posted from my SmartPhone!
