Infra Red Problem on C500...

Right, this one is strange - when I try to send a sound file or picture file from my phone (using the file manager) to my mates nokia, it bombs the IR transfer...

but - it has worked *once* to transfer a fairly big wav file, few hundred k - and it worked from his phone to mine to receive a video file, so what's going on!!

is the device manager app just poor or is it something more sinister?
