mpx200 speakerphone problem -- HELP!

I just got two new mpx200's on ebay. They're unlocked AT&T models. Using them overseas. Calls work fine.

But one of them has a problem with the speakerphone. On only SOME calls, I activate the speakerphone and it blips on for a split second and is then mute. When I switch it off, it blips on again, and so forth. Just won't stay on! On other calls it works fine.

I flashed the phone to WM2003, did a master reset... did the GSM fix... still the same issue.

Any ideas?? I don't want to have to ship it back to the US and wait for a new one!

UPDATE: I just discovered that if I have Media Player running DURING a call, the speakerphone works WHILE a clip is playing! In other words, I hear the call, not the media clip. When the clip ends, the speakerphone shuts off again.

So it appears to definitely be a software issue. Something is preventing the speakerphone from activating.

And I also discovered that it's the same exact problem with the earphones. They don't work unless Media Player is playing a clip!

Just to update for ppl reading this thread,

I have been discussing this via PM and this problem is only happening on one phone. The phone has been flashed with two other roms, and now after having three different ROMs on the phone the problem still persists. So it's looking more like a hardware fault and one of the two speakers is not connected properly to the board.

Now I'm really baffled!

I tried switching SIMs between the two phones; now the "good" phone doesn't work either!!!

How could the SIM affect the functionality of the speakerphone and headset?!?!

BTW, the SIMs are from two differerent providers: Orange Israel works; Cellcom Israel does NOT!

When you say does not work do you mean no signal?

You need to check what band Cellcom use, because if it's the 900Mhz band

then it will not work as the AT&T mpx200 phones are only dual band and not triband like Orange's version of the mpx200.

No, I mean the speakerphone & headset don't work.

I can make/receive calls regularly with both SIM cards without any problem.

Only the speakerphone & headset are affected by the SIM!

Both phones are tri-band.

I've got the exact same problem. I have sp2003 on it. I'll try another SIM card tomorrow. I have a GEMPLUS card from Sunrise TDC (Switzerland) in it ATM.

dzg2012: do both phones' speakers work with the 'good' SIM?

Yeah I have same problem. It's not only on speakerphone but including when using handfree it's happen on only outgoing call when incoming call it's work fine.And Sure It's same as you when i change from Orange Thailand to Ais Thailand it's work. i don't know why and don't know it's hardware fault or not because i don't tested my 2 sim to another mpx200. and i flashed to 2003 and it's not help anything. i bought it from HK maybe i have to go to HK to claim it ? Damn and i don't sure how to test it on HK because orange sim thailand to use it on HK have to pay 38$ for open international call services.
