Using animated gifs for caller Id on the mpx220

I am wanting to apply animated gifs to my caller ID but am not having any luck. I have them copied over to my mpx220 and can view them, but when I try to assign them to contact the option is not available. I can see the option but I am not allowed to chose it (it is not highlighted). I have the 1.3 firmware version.

I think you can only apply JPEGs to the photo contacts so no animation.
