Guest neilwillis Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 Hi, Does anyone know where I can download the xp drivers for my c500? I called Orange and they were as useful as a chocolate fire guard! Cheers Neil
Guest mwille Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 Xp drivers for C500 ?? I think you need to explain more clearly what you are intending to do, if for instance you simply want to connect the phone to your pc all you need is Microsoft Activesync (preferably 3.7.1). No further drivers required.. Please elaborate :)
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 Most likely he was referring to the synchronization software. Check this one neil http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=en
Guest neilwillis Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 Hi, I don't need to Sync, All i need the Some kind of driver. I have taken my phone into work to charge it via the USB, but when I plug it in XP finds new hardware and wants the drivers. Like i say, i dont want to sync as it will take all my work details from outlook and put them on my phone, and that woudl be a right pain. Any Ideas? Neil
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 Do what I do : Install ActiveSync 3.7.1 from MSDN Library Connect phone and choose Guest option rather than Partnership (or whatever it calls it) Now you can charge and manually copy files over etc but Outlook doesn't sync.
Guest neilwillis Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 Good Idea, I will give it a try now. Cheers Neil
Guest mwille Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 Or DO make a partnership and simply don't select any items to sync. That way you won't have to click on the guest option every time you connect.. I do the same at work :)
Guest coyspiracy Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 its askin you for the usb modem driver.. you dont need it unless you intend to use ur phone as a usb modem
Guest mwille Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 its askin you for the USB Modemdriver.. you dont need it unless you intend to use ur phone as a USB Modem You have actually READ the above ? :)
Guest neilwillis Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 All sorted now! I setup ActiveSync and set it to Guest. It was not asking for modem drivers, but as I didn’t have any my machine was making a very annoying ding dong - - - dong ding, when you plug/unplug a USB device! Cheers for the replies, Neil
