Guest matpj Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 I have set up my ntlworld email on my c500. When i first did it, it downloaded the new messages. Next time I treid to send/receive I got an error: "Unable to connect. verify your dial-up or proxy settings are correct and try again" then it worked this morning, and now its doing the same thing. has anyone encountered a similar problem? thanks, Matt
Guest Confucious Posted December 18, 2004 Report Posted December 18, 2004 I have gmail, two of my own domains (with different ISPs) Orange email and I did have Hotmail set up. I sometimes get this error with Orange email but never with any of the others! Strange but true. I don't use my orange email much so i just keep retrying and eventually it connects, all the other accounts connect first time, every time (when I have reception obviously). Not a lot of help to you, I know but I thought I'd share my experience.

Guest deezer-d Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 I have NTL World on my C500 and it connects every time with no problems. This might be a silly question but are you using the NTL smtp server or the orange one?
