Guest bart2brett Posted December 18, 2004 Report Posted December 18, 2004 I just got a 1Gb card for my phone. How do I get all my data from the old SD card to the new one?
Guest ronny Posted December 18, 2004 Report Posted December 18, 2004 I just got a 1Gb card for my phone. How do I get all my data from the old SD card to the new one? copy all existing data to your pc, then transfer it back to your new sd card. if it's a lot of data, i would suggest you to use a card reader / writter. :)
Guest Confucious Posted December 18, 2004 Report Posted December 18, 2004 Can't disagree with what ronny said but would just add that with a 1Gb card pryou really should get a reader if you don't allready have one. For large amounts of data they are a LOT quicker.
Guest kyrkesmith Posted December 19, 2004 Report Posted December 19, 2004 Yeah, I bought a LaCie "8 in 1" (although it's only got 4 slots), which covers all the main card formats for about £15 on Amazon. It works with Syncing in WMP10, which is more than a Bluetooth connection to the phone does.
Guest sajosh Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 i just got a new 1gig miniSD for my smt5600 so just copied all the files from my previous 256mb. but many of the apps don't run. i'm thinking maybe some files got missed like hidden ones. any ideas?
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Wow. Congrats on your 1gig. Have you just copied the program folder from your previous card? It may have missed some registry entries.
Guest sajosh Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 hi pzee, yes i just did a copy from 256 to PC then PC to 1gig. copied all the folders in one shot. my pc's show hidden files option is on so it should have caught that plus i spot checked some of the file counts b/w the PC and 256 and found the same counts. think it could be an activesync transfer conversion issue?
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 Could be. Try to disable conversion. Options > Rules > File Conversion
