Guest hunmin Posted December 18, 2004 Report Posted December 18, 2004 I wasn't able to find "Reset" instruction in the MPX220 manual, although I did find a hard reset somewhere on the net. It would be nice to know how to soft reset the MPX220 too. Would anyone know how to soft reset MPX220, without taking the battery out? Just incase any newbie like myself doesn't know how to hard reset the MPX220. Here is: HARD RESET: a) Power off MPX220 :) Press and Hold the Action Key (Blue Center Key), while Power On the MPX220

Guest AlbertoM Posted December 18, 2004 Report Posted December 18, 2004 A PDA goes to "sleep" when turned off. In another words, it really is not turned off, it will wake up for alarms, notifications and the like. Thus the need to reset, soft reset or warm boot in order to flush the memories. The smartphones when turned off, are completely off and will not turn on for alarms. Basically the same thing as a soft reset. This is why newbies to the SP world, coming from the PDA, will complain that their turned off SP will not turn on to wake them up. One addition to your hard reset: After doing the operation that you describe, the screen will ask you whether you want to hard reset, y or n, and if you answer y it will then state "formatting...." and you are back to the original firmware installation.
