Guest johnny_blaze Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 I want to be able to go to the folder StoragewindowsStart Menu and edit it. I want to create new folders (which i can do..) and place shortcuts in the relevant folders. My friend has one of these also and he has done this with no problems, but when i try and delete/move a shortcut i get the error message - "make sure your mobile device has sufficient memory, that it is not set as read only and that you have permission to copy this file type. I have done a hard reset as well but still the problem persists?
Guest squall Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 strange! try using jeyo personiliser from www.jeyo.com that lets you reorder the start menu by editing the registery, I think you can also move shortcuts into folders
Guest ReSpawn Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 I get this problem too :) I would also like to know how you set the order of the icons in the start menu Cheers
Guest Lojt Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 You need to OTA unlock the phone to be able to move system files (the default shortcuts are system files, no idea why though).
Guest johnny_blaze Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Ive managed to do it now, i still had problems with the OTA unlock as the configuration didnt download to my phone. I did a hard reset and I also heard that its best to activate GPRS so i browsed MSN, as i did this i received the message stating that the phone is now unlocked. So now i can modify the order/delete my start menu. Thanks for your help!!!
Guest fozzie Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Also, make sure you use the in-built File Manager and not Smart Explorer or anything like that.
Guest the_ugly_north Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 Why not do it through explorer when connected to your pc? Much, much easier!!!
Guest mrxray Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 Unfortunately I'm not all that experienced configuring or writing programs for smartphones, but I am someone who would like to reorder his start menu. Therefore I have no idea how to OTA unlock my phone. Could someone tell me how to do that for a Samsung i600, with 2003 on it (from Verizon). Thanks.
