i put mine on the root of the storage card

I think the phone will also find them in Storage Card My Documents and you can also put them on the phone itself at Storage Application Data Sounds

but they don't appear in my custom ring tone list on the edit contacts page....

That's strange.

I can pick WMAs from there and they work.

I have the same problem, some wma's work and some not. I think it has something to do with the bitrate.

I have tried various bit rates mono & stereo WMA's and full tunes in Sounds folder all appear as custom ring tones no problem. Tried turning phone off and on ?
