What is the maximum size Mini SD card that the MPx220 will recognize and while I'm at it, which company will export to South Africa?

There is no (theoretical) maximum mini-sd card as it is based on file structure capability. As for export to SA? Dunno tbh. Have you looked at eBay?

You could try asking the MoDaCo shop. They're very helpful with these things.
