Guest justinp Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Hi Since owning my SPV-C500 the reception has always been very poor, I also bought one for my wife and that’s just as bad is mine. I had thought it was all C500’s until my mum got one on Monday. Hers is excellent, whilst mine is stuck on searching or no service hers has 3-4 bars. I’ve spoken to orange and they are sending me a replacement. Cheers JustinP
Guest psneddon Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 My reception goes up and down like a yoyo - no bars - full bars - 1 bar all within the space of seconds :) Although it does seem fine when making calls?? Paul
Guest justinp Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Hi I've received a new handset and its greatly improved. Now I need to get my wifes one replaced. Cheers JustinP
Guest psneddon Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 Did you get a straight swap - have you orange care. Paul
Guest justinp Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 Hi psneddon Yes they did a straight swap, the phone is just over 2 months old, and I don't have orange care. From you description, of the reception going up and down like a yoyo, I think yours is ok, My new one does that, with the old one the signal did not change very often, and it spent most of the time displaying "searching...", "no service" or "Denied, no service...", the signal changed very rarely. Cheers JustinP
Guest RazorD Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 I find my signal tends to drop jus as i recieve a message (silly) when its sat by my window (and pc), which means it often backlights up like its about to get a message.. then looses signal, and the message comes later, odd.. but bareable. -Raz
