help on icons

I would like to change the icons on the right of the standerd orange theme that came with the phone. i would like to open upmy favourite programs from the homepage without wading through the start menu everytime.

Unfortunately it isn't possible to customise the default Orange homescreen.

am i right in thnking that i can change other skins to give the desired options?

any suggestions as to what skins can be changed to give quick links o the most frequent apps that i use.
