No clue what to do

Right I am a total newbie so please explain in newbie terms. I have just got my c500 installed active sync when I plug it in it says connecting and connected then when I try to sync it asks for a profile name and says anything I put in is invalid there is a button that say new beside it when a press that to create new profile I get error message Sometime I dont and I get to enter a new profile once I do this it asks eithe rto create a new email or use old one, as I dont have a pop3 email I dont know what option to use, If I add new it asks for login info etc, Do I need pop3 to sync? What exactly does sync do I want to be able to backup and have a copy of my contacts on pc

It sounds like it might be trying to find/create a profile for your mail settings, which could indicate that you don't have Outlook installed.

I vaguely recall that Outlook Express doesn't sync with ActiveSync, you have to use Outlook "proper" (but I might be wrong on that) so you could check what email client you are using.

Failing that attach a screenshot from your PC so we can see what's going on

As for asking for a code, you will see this if you are using the Enable Phone Lock
