Are you recieving a decert Text from Orange?

For the past two days I have been getting multiple texts from Orange

Developers site linking to the download of Action Register.

Beersoft has also started to get this as well :?

The thing is I have not tried application unlocking for months so is it

possible that the system is having a tidy up and processing old requests?

Be interesting to see how many others are experiencing this.

Not sure if it's the same thing, but I've had a nightmare getting the OTA unlock to work over the last few days... site down, pages not loading properly, just plain-old-not-working

What's Action Register?

That is the application you need to download if the developers site does not have your IMEI listed. This application then registers your IMEI so

you can continue with the Application unlocking process.

I received the same text on 22/12/04 at 2:19 am and then again on 23/12/04 at 3:16am.

I have just noticed a £10 charge for data, when I never use my phone for any data calls.... Haven't rang Orange yet but could this be anything to do with app unlock?

Not £10 but I would still question the charge with them.

Noticed mine attemting to make data calls last week. I never use it for data calls so i removed all the connection details. Did a reset this week and again it connected to gprs, was worried it could have been a virus :)

Checked task manager to see what programs running. Couldn't find any. Probably was ota unlock, because i remember making a request once but it wasn't carried out.

mate check your data useage as orange started charging me £10 per mb for some stupid reason, i complained and got my cash back (and a little extra) in the end but if you get an operator that cant add and doesnt know what GPRS is (like i did) its hard work 8)

you're not on a 'pay as you use' bundle, if you dont have that on your account they will charge you £10 per mb the meanies! get it on and then it's just the normal £3 :)

i've had nothing. is Action Register the cab that was taken off all the smartphone websites a few months ago?

Nope

Action register is the application that registers your IMEI to the Orange Developers server.

Decerted mine 3 months ago (for the last time that is) and got that sms last week :( Just kinda made me laugh :)

That explains it.

My phone kept trying to make GPRS connections while I was running other applications. It was getting really annoying as I kept closing the connection and very shortly afterwards, it would start up again :evil: I didn't wait long enough to find out what was causing it.

Luckily it's never happened since :D
