Guest CXM Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 Why can't I update my SP3 software version 1.2.33.11 to v.1 1.33.13? ROM Update Utility gives me message Error (294): Invalid vendor ID. That new software includes language support for my area. So is there any way to make this update?
Guest jfran Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 have you tried to perform the upgrade again after removing and reattaching the sync cable? let us know how you get on. rgds jim
Guest CXM Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 Nothing new so far. I-mate support suggested to download the RUU file again but that didn't help. Has anyone succeeded in this update?
Guest underpaid Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 I am registered at club i-mate, but I can't seem to find the ROM upgrade. Where exactly is it ?

Guest CXM Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Here is the latest response from i-mate support: Thank you for writing in again. Regarding your query, I have double check with the site developers and they confirm that the link is working fine and it has no problem. Therefore, I believe that there could be an issue from your end or your browser or the PC itself. I suggest you to try to download from different PC and using different browser. In case of any further enquiries, please feel free to contact me, I will be glad to assist you! Best regards Mojahed Jazmati Technical Support Specialist i-mate⢠from Carrier Devices I am using Win XP Pro SP2 and IE6. I don't believe much in this explanation but is there anyone who has a working RUU file v.1.1.33.13?
Guest namiran Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 are you kidding?!! i am trying to install the swedish language support version of this rom and i sent a mail to i-mate, after getting exactly the same wrong...the email i recieved from i-mate was EXACTLY like yours! are they ignorant or just stupid?
Guest namiran Posted December 28, 2004 Report Posted December 28, 2004 just got this: " Dear Mr. Nam, Regarding your issue, we are facing some issue with our site. The developers are working on these issue and we shall solve them within 48 hours. Please try to download the RUU again after this period. In case of any further enquiries, please feel free to contact me, I will be glad to assist you! Best regards " wich is strange cuz before they told me they had checked and there was nothing wrong with there site and that it must have been my webbrowser...i hope there not just trying to bore us out instead of trying to fix the problem...
Guest underpaid Posted December 28, 2004 Report Posted December 28, 2004 I do not think they have understood the problem. It's not a download problem or a problem getting the file. It is the updating software itself which check previous installed "vender ID". I have no problem downloading 1.1.33.13 neither downloading and installing the 1.2.33.11 version, however flashing the ROM with 1.1.33.13 is not working due to the "vender ID" check. I thought this would be an easy fix for them, they should just give us a new version of ROMUpdateUtility.exe. Please ..... That's my 2 cents ........ BTW: When I posted this, clubimate was offline.
Guest CXM Posted December 28, 2004 Report Posted December 28, 2004 Oh yeah, I got the same message today and a little later they asked my IMEI number. Lets hope that they really are doing something. Their site has been slow and tacky last days.
Guest underpaid Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 (edited) Well, now the 1.1.33.13 is unavailable for update. The site says: Download 1.1.33.13 is Coming Soon I choose to interpret this as a good sign, i.e. they recognise the problem and their working on "upgrading" the update.... Guest underpaid Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 (edited) I got an e-mail from i-mate confirming they are working on an update for 1.1.33.13, hopefully they will have it ready within a week. Edited December 30, 2004 by underpaid
