Guest agf102 Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 A friend of mine using the Orange homescreen layout and has been trying today to change the background on it. He has a picture he likes on the phone and uses the multimedia album to zoom in to the part of the picture he wants as his homescreen. He then uses menu -> save as -> homescreen to save the picture as his background. The problem is, he has a solid band of colour just under the status bar (or whatever that bar with signal strength etc.. is) at the top of his screen. If he does it with the windows default layout the solid bar of colour isn't there. I've tried this and am getting the same problem so i presume it's a bug with the layout settings on the homescreen xml? Anyone with any ideas? (I've tried searching the forums for this but i haven't found anything so sorry if this has been discussed before!)
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 I'm using my holiday snaps for the same purpose 8) What I do is use Irfanview (free-use Google to find) to resize to 176x200 and then copy them into Storage Application Data Home.
Guest agf102 Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 Cheers, i'd thought of that already. My point was though that if i zoom in on a section of a picture then set it as the homescreen, the section i was zoomed on looks fine on the windows default homescreen, but not the orange homescreen. I just wondered if anyone had ideas about that. Is this a bug in the settings for the orange homescreen, does anyone else have the same problem, and does anyone know how to fix it?
Guest attakorn Posted December 25, 2004 Report Posted December 25, 2004 Hmm... strange.... I re-flashed my ROM (Phone - Orange SPV SP2002) to a QTEK7070 so i can't check it for you. But i'm quite sure that the resolution of the background has to be 176x180 isn't it?? Try that. Hope it works ;-)
