Guest bigcanoe Posted December 25, 2004 Report Posted December 25, 2004 Hi, I just got my first bill and the data charges are insane. Is there a way to disable the internet/data access on my phone until I decide what plan I want to go with?
Guest squall Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 the internet should only dial when you open a program that needs it, ie msn or pie. If you wanted to you could delete the settings from settings/data connections. That would prevent the phone being able to dial the net.
Guest olly_k Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 I have also just been charged £10 of data calls which I know I have not made?
Guest squall Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Contact your network. Was it listed on your bill? I doubt you will get out of paying it, but its worth a go!
Guest olly_k Posted December 28, 2004 Report Posted December 28, 2004 well in my case the data shows on my bill but is in know way itemised so I don't know how many sessions I am suppose to have made and when they were made. My phone suggests I have made 4h33m of data calls, and under otpions in IE I have 0bytes temp files 224 bytes cookies and 0 bytes history. Not sure how all that adds up really I guess I should go to an orange dealer with my bill and phone? This seems to have happened since resorting back to orange homescreen but I may be wrong. All connection details are now deleted to be on the safe side. I guess I feel a bit cheeky complaining now I am on a select 500 tarriff and my bills have dropped over 50% Maybe orange are trying to milk a bit more out of me to make up for there loss :?
