Tom Tom Mobile on an SV500

Having read the review of the Tom Tom Mobile http://www.coolsmartphone.com/index.php?op...ticle&artid=376 it would appear that I could run the application on an Orange SV500 ?

Having ordered Tom Tom mobile from here: http://www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk/...t_id=72&vt=list I then get an email suggesting that in fact the application comes on an MMC rather than an SD card as stated in the review..

Can anyone shed some light on this as I would like to order myself an SV500 rather than the Nokia 6600.

Many Thanks

smevans.

PS: Is the SV500 only available with Orange ?

Its called the spv c500 rather than what you wrote on your post

sd and mmc cards pretty much the same although sd is lightly better. (its more secure etc)

users who get tomtom for the c500 transfer the files onto a minisd card, as the c500 has a mini sd card slot not full size mmc / sd card slot.

Mini sd cards come in sizes upto 1 gig, and can be used for storing mp3's / videos and similar.

merry christmas

I have an SPV c500 and have just purchased tomtom mobile following your review - (great info). I can't get the bugger working. I've had my phone for a month and have tried the following:

launch tomtom on phone and then switch on GPS - it flashes blue and green lights for 50 mins with no GPS fix.

I tried the same again with my phone bluetooth set to discoverable for 50 mins and 'on' for 50 mins. I've tried it in the garden, ontop of the car and in another area.

I'm sure I'm missing something simple to do with Bluetooth. Please can you help?

The GPS list in my devices and I have set 'yes' to receive incoming beams but they don't seem to be talking to each other after that.

Cheers

Matt

Welcome to the site :(

You have to run the Traffic update (link on page one of my review) for TomTom

to work on the C500

I installed Tom Tom on my SPV 500 and when I try to run it, it responds with "Error!" and "Failed to run program". I'm using a mini SD card (256MB) and I've installed the Tom Tom on the root of the card.

Could anyone please give me some advise? I'm new to all this so please bear with me. :(

Also, where is the link with all the info that the advisor on this thread is talking about. Again, sorry if I'm asking questions with obvious answerese but I'm just getting used to this site.
