Hi!

This is my first post so apologies if i make any faux pas!

I have just received a c500 and a bt308 gps device.

After initially having problems connecting the two via bluetooth i installed the traffic update from a very helpful person's guide (page 13).

It now works all ok up to a point, then seems to just crash at irregular points while giving me directions! it can be at any point (lasted 5 mins the last time i tried, 20 mins the time before that!).

i have tried re-installing the traffic update but no change - can anyone please help??

i have enabled com port 7 btw.

i have read in certain posts that the baud rate may have to be changed. i have not done this (and cannot find where to!) - do you think this might be the cause of the hanging?

many thanks in advance for your help

Ben

Apart from following my guide which you have done, why don't you just use the GPS unit that came with TomTom when you bought it?

Thanks for your reply.

I was under the impression that the software could work with most gps bluetooth devices - is this not the case?

do you think the baud rate may be the problem? if so, how shoudl i change it?

Hi awarner.

does this mean that you will only help people who use the tomtom device with the software?

i did have the hardware but rather stupidly bet it away in a game of cards!! - honest!

I will help who ever I can, but will not help those who deal with piracy

or warez as that is not helping the smartphone community in any way.

All it does is hinder the development of new applications.

The software will work with other devices but only a certain few.

The software only appears to work properly with the Tom Tom receiver supplied. I think this is purposely put in by Tom Tom. I have the Tom Tom Receiver with the c500 and the updated plug in from their web site and it works fine.
