Guest kev6eel Posted December 28, 2004 Report Posted December 28, 2004 I have not been able to get my bluetooth headset to work properly with the voice dialling on my C500. Is this the same for all headsets? Currently the recent UK law (on mobile phone use in cars) states that if you have to press any buttons on the HANDSET (not the headset) to make a call, you are breaking the law. If the C500 needs this on any headset it is not a legal combination in a car!! :!: Somewhat of an oversight methinks! :?: If anyone has knowledge of a C500 setting or a headset that works properly with a bluetooth heaset, please let me know. BTW, my Sony/Ericsson T610 and T630 both work fine with a bluettoh headset. Cheers, Kev A new SPV C500 user
Guest shadamehr Posted December 28, 2004 Report Posted December 28, 2004 Well discussed on these boards previously mate. Do a search. For now, consider - different headsets offer different results. I use a Motorola HS801. With it, I can press the headset button to speak a voice tag, and thus voice dial. I can also press the headset button to answer an incoming call. In that sense, both satisfy UK law. Nota Bene however - if you have the phone Keygaurd locked with a keycode, you cannot voice dail until you unlock it - that is NOT the case however for the standard keylock function - just if you use a specific pin code keygaurd lock.
Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted December 28, 2004 Report Posted December 28, 2004 Not quite true, you can press any of the buttons on the phone as long as it is securely mounted. And pushing buttons on a phone while it is in a cradle or on the steering wheel or handlebars of a motorbike for example is not covered by the new offence, provided you don't hold the phone. You basically aren't allowed to hold the phone. If you have the phone in a holder and press buttons (the same as you would with your car radio) to make and recieve calls then this is fine.
Guest kev6eel Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 No longer a problem - I now have a Jabra BT200 which works fine with voice dialling. Must have been a headset issue. Thanks for the info on the new law. Cheers, Kev
