Guest pgm316 Posted December 28, 2004 Report Posted December 28, 2004 Does anyone know of software (freeware preferable :) ) that allows writing of / deleting etc of texts. Would be much easier to do them on pc then on the phone! I'm disapointed it can't be done through outlook, would have been real handy sending texts at same time as doing emails. Another strange problem, I have a text in the outbox which it won't let me delete or move, its not really a problem but it sits there annoyingly....

Guest mwille Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 The Jeyo Outlook Extender has some drawbacks in my opinion : You have to "send/recieve" messages to get an update from the phone and deleting an item in Outlook leaves the item on the phone. There are some other small annoyances like unread marked sms messages, etc. Jeyo Mobile companion is excellent ! What you see is what you get, its just like texting, replying en deleting sms on the phone itself. :) It will set you back $14,95...
Guest Confucious Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 If you are on Orange in the UK texts can be sent from their website and you get 30 X 120 charecter texts free. I know it's not what you are looking for but it does mean you can type them at your PC. HTh
Guest pgm316 Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 thanks for the replies. I think the Jeyo software may be the way to go. And it won't cost too much with the exchange rates the way they are at the moment. It was so much easier back in the day when you had a huge Nokia that held 15 texts, it would be a full days job to pick and select from the 2000 texts I've currently got :)
Guest M@rkC Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 (edited) I use SmartPhone Studio - works with ActiveSync - to send/receive SMS messages from my E200. You get the SMS folders listed on the left hand side (kinda like an Outlook bar) and when you click on say, the Inbox, SPStudio gets all the messages from your SmartPhone's Inbox. You can create a new message in the program and hit send and it sends it through the phone (and updates the "Sent Items" folder on the phone too). To refresh any folder, just click the icon in the side-bar and SPStudio will reload it from the phone. Not sure where you can get the program from any more - I think it's been replaced by the Jeyo stuff now, but Monolithix may have this golden oldie on his site..... :-k HTH Mark. PS. It's free too!!! HTh <{POST_SNAPBACK}> plus, when you use the 30 free texts you can still send them as if from your own number, then you dont have to put your name on the text and you're just billed as usual! 8)
