Guest deiwise Posted December 23, 2002 Report Posted December 23, 2002 Hi, I use GPRS daily, mainly for email when away from work and need to email them, but also to connect to the intranet. It's brilliant to be able to connect so easily, but most of the time I have my laptop with me and it's annoying not being able to use it with my phone to browse "properly". So I was thinking about getting one of these - a USB/IR "plug." I was just wondering whether anyone's been connecting their laptop to their SPV for GPRS, via IR, and how well it works. Cheers Will
Guest janagan Posted December 23, 2002 Report Posted December 23, 2002 I havent tried with a laptop, but i tried with a 7650 and my pocket pc, and it failed both the times. And theres a thread regarding this issue where it seems theres not many devices this thing can connect to. Why dont u check out the USB charger for this phone which i think can also transfer data.
Guest deiwise Posted December 23, 2002 Report Posted December 23, 2002 The USB cradle can't yet act as a pass-through - a massive flaw by Microsoft...
Guest tiita Posted December 23, 2002 Report Posted December 23, 2002 it actually works quite fine with laptops over IRDA. the problem might occur if you use a Usb IRDA adapter as windows may not install it correctly try it, at the worst keep the receipt and take it back
