Guest lycrawearer Posted November 25, 2002 Report Posted November 25, 2002 Okay - so there is a compatible car charger .... What I would find really useful is a simple USB charger lead ! (Bought a USB charger kit from The Link earlier in the year - came with 3 interchangeable adaptors - suitable for use with Nokia, Ericsson & Motorola - this has had no end of use and is very practical) Anybody know of one ? Or indeed, like me, want one ? Thanks lycrawearer
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 25, 2002 Report Posted November 25, 2002 I would definitely like one, provided it had a suitable connector for the cradle... P
Guest lycrawearer Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 Found one ... The one I'm thinking of is http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=XDAUSBCABLE It charges the SPV, also synchronizing it as the same time ! Whilst it does more than I need - it will do ! I simply want a small & simple USB charger cable to keep at the office. lycrawearer
Guest hex Posted November 27, 2002 Report Posted November 27, 2002 Hi, I've looked everywhere for a post on this topic but nobody seems to mention it. Is the cradle supposed to charge the spv's battery? I got the impression it does. Mine doesn't however. Have I got a faulty cradle? If isn't supposed to, why not? :?
Guest TheDon Posted November 27, 2002 Report Posted November 27, 2002 @ Hex you need to plug the charger lead into the back of the cradle in one of the holes that look like screw holes :D
Guest hex Posted November 27, 2002 Report Posted November 27, 2002 Doh! Mind you, I still think it should charge from the USB port. You can buy cables to do this. Now I still have to lug the mains adapter around :D
Guest MBoden Posted November 28, 2002 Report Posted November 28, 2002 Has anyone tried the Expansys USB AutoSync and charger Cable yet ?
Guest Cent Posted November 29, 2002 Report Posted November 29, 2002 Received it today .... works like a charm !!!!
Guest pupton Posted November 29, 2002 Report Posted November 29, 2002 Can you confirm that the XDA cable on Expansys charges the SPV from the USB port?
Guest Rob_Quads Posted November 29, 2002 Report Posted November 29, 2002 Has anyone actually tested this cable. Surely it is just like the cradle except it has a plug instead of the cradle. The cradle needs an external power supply to charge the phone. I would have thought if they could have had the cradle self powered they would have as it normally will be pluged into mains supplied computers so would not be causing an excessive power drain on the computer
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 29, 2002 Report Posted November 29, 2002 I was chatting to Cent earlier, he HAS THIS CABLE! IT CHARGES AND SYNCS! Be happy! P
Guest artax Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 I'm confused, which cable works as there are 2 listed on the site O2 XDA USB AutoSync Cable and eXpansys XDA Sync-N-Charge Cable Are you saying the first one charges as well as syncs or do you need the second one? Cheers Dave
Guest Tim Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 I've got the second one, which charges and syncs. I think the first one only syncs.
Guest Cent Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Sorry guys ... neglected you here :D Got the Sync N' Charge for the XDA as listed above. It works. It charges. It syncs. Doesnt jump up and down. Working just fine .... Here is the link again : http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=XDA-DC
Guest pupton Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 I found an XDA sync & charge cable on Ebay for £10.99 Works a treat :D
Guest Richard Bloomfield Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 I've just spotted you can get an XDA USB Sync & Charge cable (which I guess will work with a SPV too) for £9.99 (ex VAT) from Peripheral Corner. Link: http://www.peripheralcorner.co.uk/cgi-bin/...CXDA&type=store
Guest Rog Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 Cool. Just ordered one! By default they charge £10 for next working day delivery! I selected royal mail (cos I'm tight and don't want to spend more on delivery than the product) but there was no re-calculate. If they charge the full £10 I'll post back here.............
Guest Rog Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 Re previous post. Charged correctly - £3.50 UK First class! Phew!
